Verse and Message (December 15-22, 2012) December 19, 2012

Nehemiah 8:10
Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
I received the following poem via email from numerous people today.  I wanted to share it in case it hasn’t made it to you.  It’s an amazing expression of the JOY of the LORD in the midst of the tragedy that took place on Friday in Newtown, CT. I love how our God trumps EVERYTHING the enemy attempts to destroy.  THE JOY OF OUR LORD IS INDEED OUR STRENGTH…no matter what! As we spend time with family and friends during this Season of Our Lord’s birth, please remember the families and friends of all of the children and adults who lost their lives during that most horrific event at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
  Sandy Hook Elementary School

Twas’ 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
When 20 beautiful children stormed through Heaven’s gate.
Their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
They could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
They were filled with such joy; they didn’t know what to say.
They remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
“Where are we?” asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
“This is heaven” declared a small boy. “We’re spending Christmas at God’s house”.
When what to their wondering eyes did appear,
But Jesus, their Savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
Then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
And in that moment was joy, that only Heaven can bring
Those children all flew into the arms of their King.
And as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
One small girl turned and looked at Jesus’ face.
And as if He could read all the questions she had
He gently whispered to her, “I’ll take care of Mom and Dad.”
Then He looked down on Earth, at the world far below
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe.
Then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
“Let My power and presence re-enter this land!
May this country be delivered from the hands of fools
“I’m taking back my nation. I’m taking back my schools! “
Then He and the children stood up without a sound.
“Come now my children let me show you around. “
Excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran.
All displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
And I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
“In the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT.”

I know our Lord is still on the throne. The enemy doesn’t have much left….the enemy knows what’s ahead….that’s why he is pulling all the stops. It is well with my soul..knowing who’s in charge. Thank you for your friendship and encouragement Ash…Love you

Thank you for sharing such a wonderful way of looking at this trajedy! Let’s give the glory to Jesus and proclaim that what the enemy meant for harm, God will turn into our good! Let’s now look for creative ways to share the love of Jesus with those along our path, including those troubled ones who could be persuaded to commit this horrible act. I read a story of a satan worshiper who brought a check to the bank to cash, written to the church of satan and a bank teller wrote on the check, Jesus loves you and through this act, the man eventually gave his life to Jesus. This is supposed to be available in a book from the people who put out the comic tracts, a company called Chick. I think the story is true. HOW CAN WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE, TODAY? I will forward this poem. Thanks again for your ministry and making a difference!

Marilyn…Thank you for your reply. It’s truly a miracle how God works. I would like to see or read more about that book from the comic tracts….exceptional and supernatural for sure. I pray you and your family enjoy a beautiful Christmas. I appreciate your encouragement! Blessings for 2013 too! Smiles….

Love you dear Carol! We drove by your house tonight. You are FILLED with LIGHT throughout the year, not just in December…but what an amazing display of HIS LIGHT…I especially noticed the details in the “crown of thorns” at the top of the Cross by the Nativity. Your home display should be a national winner..and on television. Thank you for the light you radiate consistently…
