Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

We live in an age of abbreviations. I will have to admit “IM” illiterate. However, I have done some recent study regarding the popular abbreviations textaholics are using.  Here are but a few:  LOL (Laugh Out Loud); BFF (Best Friends Forever); J/K (Just Kidding); BTW (By The Way); TTYL (Talk To You Later) — ok, that’s about the limit of my expertise with these trendy abbreviations. There are others, so many others, that I am completely oblivious…such as — F2T? (Free To Talk?); GMTA (Great Minds Think Alike); KWIM (Know What I Mean?); or RME (Rolling My Eyes). **From LOL with God–Pam Farrel and Dawn Wilson**

I definitely feel my age when trying to communicate with this texting generation. I am just relieved that God didn’t abbreviate His Word. He intricately spells out WHO HE IS in Scripture. He knew that we would encounter deception in this life, so He designed a Handbook that would line up with His character and standards. GOD SPEED is not something He came up with…..rather, His TRUTH is more significant than racing through the pages of His Word.

IF we trust and honor the Lord and seek His wisdom, He will provide it. It will be crystal clear. The problem we have is trying to get through the distractions of the world and the abbreviations for living. We live a short-cut lifestyle. We don’t have time to sit on the porch drinking lemon-aid as our great grandparents enjoyed. And, we are all worn out from technology.

When we place our complete undivided attention on the Lord, He will not only give us clarity for everyday decisions, He will create a passion and hunger for Him that gives us the desire to want MORE not LESS.

To wrap up this message, I wanted to share a link you all might appreciate. My buddy Jason Cooke started a website with abbreviations related to our Lord in the form of car tags. These are fun to spot on the road, similar to the game we played in the 70’s when we would spot a “bug” ie Volkswagen Bug, but so much more fun.

Check it out. And, practice spelling everything out….pick your timing. Sometimes LESS is not MORE, especially when it comes to the ONE WHO ONLY KNOWS HOW TO PROVIDE MORE.

Don’t short circuit God’s Message…
This isn’t Cliff’s Note’s…..
This is Real LIFE in HIM
