Mark 12:30-31
“And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind, and all your strength.  The second is equally important:  ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
From a very early age we are taught to treat others as we want to be treated.  We also learn the very significant act of sharing.  Taking on the mind of Christ, we are able to practice those principles throughout our lives.
The truth is that we get back what we give.  If we smile, a smile is typically returned.  Displaying the fruit of the Spirit will result in a boomerang effect in the game of life.  It’s a fact!  This concept also rings true when we express destructive social behaviors.  We cannot hurt someone else without hurting ourselves!  Our attitudes and actions are contagious!
If we practice love (even when we don’t feel like it) — the love will return.  The only way we are capable to fully love ourselves and others is by accepting the love of the Father.  The only way we are able to forgive ourselves and others is by accepting the forgiveness of our Father.  If we truly love the Lord with all of our heart and seek Him in all we do, loving our neighbor will come natural, and the gift of mercy will also be reflected.
I heard of a man who gave a golf ball the name of someone he disliked and struck it—the ball went into the rough.  If we hold onto resentment, it is difficult to see straight or to drive straight!  According to a Chinese proverb, “He who spits against the wind spits in his own face.”
We must release our burdens to Jesus!  His GRACE is the only thing we can count on to remove the dissension that satan attempts to spread!  We have no obligation to the evil nature as new creatures in Christ!
God honors a pure heart!  There are more muscles required to frown than to smile!
