Matthew 18:3
And, he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you CHANGE and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
2 Corinthians 3:18
And, we who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being TRANSFORMED into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the SAME yesterday and today and forever.
When preparing for my message this week, I decided to share a blog entry written by Mark Shaw who partners with Jason Cooke, a dear brother in Christ, in a ministry called “Truth In Love.” Before moving onto the subject, I wanted to share a portion of their mission:
Truth in Love is an innovative, on-location ministry to the body of Christ through the local church.  Our staff travels to local churches to establish a biblical counseling discipleship, and mentoring ministry at each partnering church.  While serving the church members and the surrounding community as outreach, we also teach and equip church leaders and called lay persons to completely provide shepherding care for God’s “flock” of children.
(1 Peter 5:2)
And, I also deemed it fitting to share a portion of their statement of faith that applies to this message specifically:
“Achieving God’s purposes means taking faith filled risks. This always involves CHANGE.”
Here’s what Shaw’s blog entry had to say about what is happening now……

As biblical counselors, we know what we want the counselee to CHANGE into – the answer is – Christ.  We want our counselors to become like the Lord Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We have an example to learn from when we read the Holy Scriptures.  Jesus is our example, and we are all to be like Him.  The Bible is essential to study so that we can be like Him.
CHANGE” is a big word this election year.  I say we focus NOT on political CHANGE but upon spiritual CHANGE in our personal lives.  We need to ask God to CHANGE us into the image of Christ by His transforming power through His Word of Truth.
-Mark (voting for “CHANGE” in the lives of Christians everywhere)
With those thoughts in mind, I wanted to share an acrostic I created to coincide with the referenced blog entry:
CChrist is the clear example to follow.
H Holiness is obtained only through Jesus Christ.  We can be “set apart” by accepting Christ as our personal Savior, and allow Him to sanctify us day by day.
AAlmighty God….Indeed, our Lord is sovereign, and because He is the Everlasting God, He is never taken by surprise….even during an election as historical as this one has been.
NNone can come to the Father except through Jesus.
G – His Grace is sufficient for anything and everything that we will ever face.
EEternal Life is our gift when we VOTE for Him Who loved us first.  In fact, all of His promises provide 100% guarantee.
CHANGE was the platform for President Elect, Barack Obama.  Indeed, CHANGE is something that will take place in our nation.  But, we can be certain that our God will not CHANGE, regardless of what happens in this world! He is truly our ONLY SECURITY. We must focus on CHANGING the world with the LIGHT of JESUS within us! So, let’s SHINE people!
